Tax Policy 2010

It is highly likely that major changes to our tax system will be introduced by Government this year.  It is important that any changes strike the right balance in addressing the difficult economic climate while preserving the ability of the business sector to maintain and create employment.

Over the coming months, our Institute will intensively engage with Government, relevant Government departments, State agencies and other business/representative bodies on these issues. The tax profession’s intimate knowledge of the tax system, what works and what doesn’t and our knowledge of the commercial challenges our clients are facing means we are very well placed to make a key contribution to this policy debate.

To date, we have sought our Member’s views through ‘Town Hall’ style meetings and through a comprehensive survey of our members. You may view a sample of these suggestions here in our Feedback section.

If you would like to contribute further to the debate, you can email cobrien@taxireland.ie, our Director of Technical Services.
