Homestudy weekends
Homestudy is offered to students whose professional or personal commitments are such that they are unable to attend regular evening lectures. With this fully supported option, students are provided with a tailored set of manuals, the relevant Institute publications and intensive weekend workshops. The material is designed to allow students to assess their own progress and to study at the most convenient time for them.
Students may be required to complete assignments. Attendance at all weekend tutorials is strongly recommended.
Homestudy weekends take place in Dublin and Limerick, over three or four weekends (depending on which Part you are at), starting in October and finishing in March.
In 2008/2009, venues are as follows:
Dublin:
Part 1: National College of Ireland, Mayor Street, IFSC, Dublin 1
Parts 2 & 3: UCD, Belfield, Dublin
Limerick: Mary Immaculate College, South Circular Road, Limerick
Examinations
Examinations take place twice each year, in April/May and August/September. Students may choose either sitting.
Students will be required to sit a relevant Part of the Associateship examinations at least once every three years from the date of registration.
Students must have successfully completed or be exempted from one Part before proceeding to the next Part of the examinations.
