AITI Qualification
The AITI qualification has been reformed for 2009/2010 following extensive collaboration with key stakeholders and educational experts. An extensive learning needs analysis was conducted in 2008 consulting all members and students. Feedback from existing courses was incorporated into the design and development of our new blended learning teaching methodology.

Key innovations include:
Syllabus
The AITI is a fully integrated and comprehensive curriculum which highlights the integration and interaction of taxes. The syllabus takes a transactional approach as no tax exists in isolation. This comprehensive and detailed competency-based syllabus maps to the course materials to assist you in planning and tracking your studies.
Please click here to review the syllabus.
Manuals
The manuals for each subject have been completely re-written and edited by leading tax specialists with input from educational experts. This input from instructional designers aims to maximise the effectiveness, efficiency and appeal of the manuals as learning tools. The manuals map to the new AITI syllabus, incorporating each subject’s learning objectives in each chapter, as well as tasks to test understanding of the material covered and directions for further reading.
Move to a blended learning teaching methodology
AITI is now delivered via a fully integrated blended learning approach in keeping with best practice in adult education. Lectures will be delivered over a series of weekends only and complemented by e-learning, assignments, research workshops, continuous assessment, revision courses and examinations.
Once again the research workshops which focus on the development of tax research skills and the study of legislation are an integral feature of the course. Based on the use of practical case studies, these small group research workshops will assist in preparing you for continuous assessment and examinations.
Winter and summer courses
Winter and summer courses offer even greater flexibility as you can chose when best suits you (and your employer) to study and sit examinations. It also means that you can progress faster through your studies, should you so wish.
