What will I study?
The AITI is a cumulative and fully integrated curriculum. Each Part builds on the knowledge and skills acquired at previous Parts, meaning that every subject that you have successfully passed (or been exempted from) is relevant throughout the course of your studies.
AITI delivers both breadth and depth - a deep understanding of tax legislation across all taxes as well as a broad view of the strategic importance of tax in the wider business environment.
The AITI is academically rigorous attracting high achievers from a wide variety of backgrounds who want to pursue a career in tax. Not only is the syllabus updated annually to reflect Finance Act changes, it also reflects the constantly evolving market place and in particular, employers’ needs. Achieving this qualification will ensure that AITI Chartered Tax Advisers are ready for the commercial world.
Holders of the AITI qualification learn to use skills such as analysis and judgement to investigate and evaluate tax issues. They learn to provide and implement tax advice and support taxpayers to be tax compliant. Their communications skills are a key requirement when representing clients and companies and students are also taught to develop these skills throughout the course.
