AITI Registered Tax Consultants must abide by the Irish Taxation Institute “Code of Professional Conduct and Recommended Best Practice Guidelines”. 

Any person may bring to the attention of the Secretary of the Investigations Committee of the Irish Taxation Institute any facts or matters which may indicate that a member of the ITI has breached this code.   To find out more about the Irish Taxation Institute's disciplinary procedures, please click here.

Selecting an AITI Registered Tax Consultant

Registered Tax Consultants must operate in accordance with the ITI's Code of Professional Conduct & Recommended Best Practice Guidelines

When choosing an AITI Registered Tax Consultant, you should confirm the following:

1. That they have the recommended Professional Indemnity insurance in place;

2. That they are registered for a TAIN (Tax Advisor Identification Number) with the Revenue Commissioners.

3. That they have no conflict of interest in acting for you.

4. That they have given you an estimate of their proposed fees.
